Winners: A Photoshoot For Newborn Twin Girls

Last month,  The Good Birth Practice – who offers relaxed private and group courses in hypnobirthing – were running a week long giveaway and I gladly donated a prize for a newborn mini session. I was doubly thrilled to hear that the winner was expecting twins!  Super exciting for me as, whilst I’ve photographed newborn twins several times in 2016, I hadn’t had any newborn twin photoshoot sessions since last year.

Expectations for a Mini Photoshoot

When new parents, Lois and Mark arrived at the studio with their gorgeous girls,  I talked them through how my newborn photography is completely baby-led. I also explained that as this was a mini session, the emphasis would be on capturing the girls just as they were – i.e. probably awake, moving & wriggling – and it was unlikely we’d get any posed newborn images that I achieve in my full newborn photo shoots. WELL, blow me down – these little girls were SUPER easy to photograph for their newborn twin photoshoot. They were practically asleep the whole hour!  I also captured some fabulous windy smiles 🙂

I started off by swaddling both babies in a lovely tight and secure wrap – this helped to keep them lovely and sleepy. And then I unwrapped them to get some simple blanket shots of them both together and individually. Here are some of the beautiful images we achieved in the mini session:
