Superhero Cake Smash

This gorgeous superhero cake smash theme was so much fun…..particularly as little Xander was such a good sport about wearing the outfits. He didn’t mind the Kent Clark glasses and he only moaned a little about wearing the superhero cuffs!

All Sarah Hart Photography cake smashes usually begin with a simple portrait session of the birthday boy or girl in a nice outfit. However, mummy chose instead to have Xander dress up as Clark Kent for his portrait part, and then Superman for his cake smash.

Mummy had already planned for Xander’s first birthday party to be a superhero theme, so it made sense to bring along some of the bits she’s bought to his superhero cake smash! She brought the Clark Kent outfit – which comprised of a white shirt, Superman vest to go underneath the shirt and black rim glasses. Plus she also brought along a few comic style cardboard cutouts to stick around the cake and bath.

I ordered a fabulous Lemon Drop Shop superhero skyscraper backdrop and used it with a dark grey paper floor backdrop. I also had a little superhero cake smash outfit made from an Etsy seller. She made the cape and cuffs suitable for a 1 year old! Xander’s mummy brought along her own cake and we were all set to go.
