My Autumn walk at Emmetts Garden – a personal blog
Posted on 28 Oct, 2016 by Sarah Hart
It’s half term so I’ve had no photography shoots this week. Instead it’s been a week of entertaining the kids (well, actually more like stopping them kill each other whilst playing Monopoly!), dance competitions and getting out and about in the autumn sunshine. Yesterday we took a stroll around Emmetts Garden – and as you probably saw on Facebook (thanks so much for all your votes 🙂 ) – I had a mission of attempting to grab a nice photo of myself with my family as my Mum has been moaning that she hasn’t got a recent photo of us.
And here are a few snaps from our autumnal walk. I honestly think Autumn is my favourite season and even though the kids groaned at visiting another National Trust place, I think they secretly enjoyed themselves: Cohen found some sticks (as boys always do) and Belle kept asking for my camera so she could take some photographs of flowers that she found. We explored the gardens and had a go at doing the Nationa Trust’s Bat trail. Plus hot chocolates at the end of a walk are always a bonus! And if you scroll down to the bottom of the blog you will find the spookiest of images (well okay, 4 images put together!). We were sat drinking our drinks when I grabbed my macro lens to take photo of Belle’s eye….she then wanted to take a photo of mine….and so then an idea formed. People have always commented on how alike my daughter is to me and also how alike my son and husband are. I think this photograph just proves that my husband and I have each created a “mini-me”
So there you have it! A little snippet of our walk in the sunshine yesterday. I’d love to hear where you enjoying walking with your family ….post a comment to tell me where your favourite place is to take your family
And if you’d like a photographer to capture the walk….give me a shout!
Enjoy the rest of half term!

Gorgeous picture Sarah. I would definitely like an Autumn shoot next year when both the kids can run around and kick some leaves. Xxx
Thanks Sarah….and I will look forward to it! Autumn is perfect for a family lifestyle session!
Great blog Sarah! What a beautiful place to have your images taken! If only I lived closer! I would defo be booking you!! For now I will have to stick to my own tripod in beautiful sunny Edinburgh! The botanical gardens are where we usually venture too. You have inspired me to venture back soon! Xxxx
Thanks Katia, if we lived a little closer we could shoot each other’s family photos….always better than dragging a tripod round with you!
