Bluebell Cake Smash

When you have a April or May birthday, what better than to celebrate with a Bluebell cake smash. Lovely little Seren visited the studio to celebrate her first birthday with a cake smash photo shoot at my Tonbridge studio.
Mum’s request for this cake smash session was to include Bluebells and keep to a blue and cream theme. She had already spotted a beautiful floral romper from Etsy (which she kindly then left at the Sarah Hart Photography studio to add to my collection of little girl outfits)
I selected a plain cream backdrop and ordered a small bunch of artificial Bluebells. Beautiful as they are, I wouldn’t dream of picking these protected plants (not to mention the fact that they are poisonous). I then asked Denise at Cakes Unlimited UK if she could design Bluebell cake for Seren’s cake smash. Originally, Denise had planned to create tiny fondant bluebells to stick on the side of the cake. However, we were worried about them being a choking hazard, so Denise hand-painted the bluebells on. How stunning is her creation?!
I wanted to keep with the floral theme for Seren’s cake smash. So I created a digital overlay of a blue floral ONE and photographed this prior to her session. Following her photo shoot, I then added the digital overlay to all of the mages from Seren’s gallery. The result was a beautiful set of Bluebell cake smash images which will look beautiful on the client’s walls.
