Hi, I’m Sarah, owner of Sarah Hart Photography based in Tonbridge. I’m a Kent maternity photographer and have been photographing bumps, newborns and families for 9 years serving clients from Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas.

Expecting a child is an exciting time and it’s lovely to be able to record these precious moments with a maternity photoshoot. You can select to book an indoor or outdoor maternity session based on your preference although seasons and weather may play a role in your decision!

If you opt for outdoor maternity photography, beautiful locations in the local area include:

Haysden Country Park, Tonbridge

Dunorlan Park, Tunbridge Wells

Mote Park, Maidstone

If you are lucky enough to be able to have access to a beautiful and large garden, this makes a good alternative. Another lovely location that I’ve photographed in is Shipbourne common, opposite The Chaser pub, particularly in early Summer months. The time of day we set your session plays an important role. If at all possible, I recommend an early evening maternity session as the light is much lower in the sky. This makes for much softer light which is more flattering for your portraits.

Maternity Pricing

The maternity session fee costs £260 and includes 10 high resolution digital images and a £50 credit towards a Newborn Photoshoot.

What To Wear

I recommend showing off your bump in fairly tight fitting clothing – it’s important to show off the bump in these images! Your partner’s shirt, matching lingerie or a figure hugging dress are all great options at a studio maternity session.

However, you may like the idea of celebrating your bump in some tasteful nude maternity shots. It’s natural to feel a little unsure about the idea of being naked at a photoshoot. But the idea with these types of images is to have the lighting focussed on your bump and to create beautiful, timeless images of this precious time. The shots can be replicated in lingerie if you don’t feel that you want to be photographed naked. And of course, the choice is completely yours as to how much of your body you’d like to reveal.
